  • Earn your degree for free online. The Free College Benefit helps union families continue their college education without piling on thousands of dollars in student debt.

    In partnership with Eastern Gateway Community College (EGCC), the Union Plus Free College Benefit offers "last dollar scholarships" that fill the gap between any federal, state and employer education grants for tuition, fees, and e-books for certain online programs at Eastern Gateway.

  • Through IUPAT’s partnership with UnionPlus, members can receive numerous financial aid opportunities to pursue a college degree or continued education.

  • IUPAT honors S. Frank “Bud” Raftery’s service to the International Union, his accomplishments, and his progressive thinking with this scholarship fund. Ten scholarships of $2000 are awarded annually to the children and legal dependents of IUPAT members in good standing.

    All applicants must submit an application along with an essay on a topic chosen by the IUPAT Scholarship Committee. Essays must be at least 1000 words in length and no more than 2000 words.

  • The A.L. “Mike” Monroe/Ralph D. Williams III Sports Scholarship was created to offer student athletes the opportunity to pursue their athletic ambitions while earning an advanced degree at the academic institution of their choosing.

    This scholarship honors A.L. “Mike” Monroe and Ralph D. Williams III. As teenagers, both men were accomplished boxers (Williams was elected into the Pennsylvania State Boxing Hall of Fame as well as being an avid football player). Despite their athletic talent, neither man had the resources to attend college. Instead, they joined the trades at a young age. This scholarship, offers the children and legal dependents of IUPAT members the opportunity to pursue the education these two men never had.

    All applicants must submit an application along with other materials and an essay discussing why they should receive this award. Essays must be 1000 words in length.

  • The IUPAT and the International Finishing Trades Institute (iFTI) continue to build affiliations with institutions that offer advanced educational opportunities for union members and families.

    The iFTI is pleased to announce that we are now partners in learning with Columbia Southern University (CSU). Based in Orange Beach, Alabama, CSU offers a variety online association, bachelor, master’s and even doctoral degree programs for IUPAT members and families at a discounted rate.

    This includes Business Administration, Environmental Management, Occupational Safety & Health, Criminal Justice and Information Systems & Cyber Security among a large variety of other fields of study.
